Wildland Fire Preparedness
Living in the Loveland Rural Fire Protection District means living with the beauty and responsibility of Colorado’s wildland-urban interface. Wildfire preparedness is a shared effort between residents, property owners, emergency responders, and partner agencies.
Taking steps before a fire starts can help protect your home, your neighbors, and emergency responders.
What You Can Do Now
Create defensible space around your home
Remove leaves, pine needles, dead vegetation, and other flammable materials from around your home, deck, gutters, and roofline.
Maintain access for emergency vehicles
Keep driveways, gates, and private roads clear and accessible. Trim overhanging branches, maintain address markers, and ensure responders can safely locate and access your property.
Prepare for evacuation
Have a go-bag, know your evacuation routes, and leave immediately if ordered to evacuate.
Stay informed
Check current fire restrictions, emergency alerts, and preparedness resources regularly during wildfire season.
